 A Brief History Of Tasmania Premier League The Tasmanian association football championship has been decided using two systems, a short lived state wide league and also a playoff between Northern and Southern leagues. As of 2000, the State League became defunct, and the Southern and Northern Premier Leagues have become the state's highest level of Football competition. After the demise of the State League, the state championship has reverted to the format of the two regional leagues determining a southern and northern champion, who then play-off for the state championship. |
